This Is Not Your Typical Review Site

The reviews on this site are written in an irreverent manner. They can be funny or they can be extremely sarcastic. Some people call these reviews "slice and dice reviews". Your feelings may get hurt. You may be moved to write angry emails to me.

If I don't think I should pull my punches, I won't. If I think I have to be upfront and say a few really unpleasant things about a game I will. I've learned from experience that it's not easy for over-invested fans to see such a distinction so I can't guarantee that nobody's feelings will get hurt. If I worry too much about people's feelings getting hurt, I may as well pretend that I love everything but if I do that, I'll be a raging depressed alcoholic by the end of the month. Suppressing your true feelings can do that to you, after all.

This site is a way for me to express my opinions on the books that I have read. I don't worry too much whether people like me, I don't want them to advertise their games on my site or pay some kind of fees to get featured on the website, and I don't care if people think I'm the second coming of Cruella De Vil.

I can't promise you that the reviews will be useful, educational, or a reflection of your own preferences. However, there are no agendas here, no pandering to anyone's feelings, no worries on whether the people will stop sending me free stuff, and no fear that people will stop buying ad spaces on my website. I have nothing to lose by speaking my mind. Therefore, I can assure you one thing that's certain - I mean every word I say in a review. It's all me. Just one woman's opinion.
