After what he did to his twin brother and the woman his brother eventually shacked up with in All Of You, Lucas Lonnigan gets his comeuppance in this story - Kyle sets him up on a blind date with a woman who will not be interested in knocking boots with Lucas, Belinda Riggs. Belinda is a woman who likes leather, shirts ripped in the midriff - the whole Scary Spice ensemble, in other words.
Lucas has known Belinda since they were in grade school (he took her virginity), and now he pretty much drools in her presence. But she is tired of him always breaking her heart after making her believe that they have something good together, so now she wants nothing to do with him. Meanwhile, he believes that she wants his twin brother more. In this blind date, he decides that he wants one night with Belle to exorcise her from his system. She foolishly gives him what he wants and then goes all teary-eyed when he walks away the next morning. Of course, Lucas finds himself thinking of her and decides that maybe he'd like to go back into her good graces.
These two then establish a pattern for most of the rest of the book - they argue, bicker, fall into bed, but frustratingly don't communicate in order to clear up some matters. They have plenty of issues standing between them, mostly due to wrong assumptions, her insecurities, and his insensitivity; this inability to talk causes their drama to stretch on and on.
As a result, these two come off more like silly kids than anything else, and their behavior becomes tad repetitive after a while. This story is readable, if frustrating due to the antics of the main characters. Perhaps if the author had shortened the story and removed some of the more repetitive drama in the middle portions of the story, this one would have been a more enjoyable read.
